Alma Yvonne Cornatzar Weitzel, 83, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away on November 21, 2024, at Circle of Life at Legacy Village in Bentonville, Arkansas. Yvonne was born on September 23, 1941, in Humboldt, Tennessee, to the late Charles and Margaret Gordon Cornatzar.
She married the love of her life, Clarence Weitzel Jr., in Mountain View, California, the day before her 17th birthday on September 22, 1958. Together, they shared 66 years of life's ups and downs, creating cherished memories that will be told for decades to come.
Yvonne was a passionate and caring mother who provided a home filled with love and laughter for her family. She had many passions throughout her life, including camping, bowling, creating ceramics, and collecting clowns. Above all, she treasured spending time with her siblings and family, who were the light of her life. She was well-known for her famous Hungarian pierogies and holiday candies, which will be lovingly remembered by all who had the pleasure of enjoying them.
She spent many years raising her children and instilling in them a foundation of values. Outside the home, Yvonne worked at Daisy BB Gun, Emerson Electric, and retired from First Brands, where she contributed to well-known brands such as Glad and Clorox.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret Cornatzar, and her sister, Sandra Lee Anderson.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Clarence Weitzel Jr.; her children, Gene Weitzel and his wife, Pamala, Marie Weitzel, Gary Weitzel and his wife, Anita, and Glen Weitzel; six cherished grandchildren, Christine, Nicole, Yvonne, Amanda, Ashley, and Paige; twenty-one adored great-grandchildren; her brother, Joe Cornatzar, and his wife, Judy; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Benton County Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 3800 W. Walnut St., Rogers, Arkansas.
A graveside service to honor Yvonne's life will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, 6500 S. 129th East Ave., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Yvonne's legacy of love, laughter, and cherished traditions will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
