Artis “Art” Clyde Temple, 77, of Rogers, Arkansas, sadly passed away on July 31, 2026. He was born on January 23, 1949, to Thomas Eugene Temple and Mary Evelyn (Harrelson) Temple.

Art was born in Winnsboro, Louisiana, and graduated from Crowville High School. Soon after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his 20 years of service, he was stationed at several bases in the United States and overseas, including McGuire AFB, NJ; Pease AFB, NH; Little Rock AFB, AR; Clark AFB, Philippines; RAF Upper Heyford, England; and Barksdale AFB, LA. He also served in Thailand during the Vietnam War.

Art was married for 55 years to Terry (Cary) Temple, whom he met while stationed in New Jersey. They soon welcomed their son, Jim, in 1972, and daughter, Karen, in 1974.

After his retirement from the Air Force in 1988, Art and his family returned to Arkansas where he worked for many years at the First Electric Co-Op in Jacksonville, AR. Art and Terry then relocated to Alabama to be closer to their son and grandchildren, and Art finished his career at Dixie Electric Co-Op in Montgomery, AL. Several years into their retirement, they moved once again to settle in Rogers, AR.

Art was a lifelong outdoorsman. He was skilled in hunting and fishing and enjoyed these activities with his son and grandsons. He was also an accomplished gardener and loved to share his homemade hot sauce, salsa, pickles, and more with family and friends. Art enjoyed cooking, as well, whether it was on the grill or at the stove.

Art is preceded in death by: his son, Jim Temple; brothers, Otis Temple, Thomas Temple, Troy Temple, and Dewey Temple; and sisters, Thelma Temple, Velvie Barfield, and Ludie Mota.

He is survived by: wife, Terry (Cary) Temple of Rogers, AR; daughter, Karen (Temple) Walker of Rogers, AR; granddaughter, Isabella Walker of Rogers, AR; grandsons, Greyson Walker and Ashton Walker of Rogers, AR; grandson, James Temple (Abby) of Wetumpa, AL; grandson, Matthew Temple (Hannah) of Fort Riley, KS; granddaughter, Katie Temple of Pensacola, FL; great-grandson, Jim Temple of Wetumpka, AL; great-grandson, Axle Temple of Fort Riley, KS; great-granddaughters, Loxley Temple and Hallie Temple of Fort Riley, KS; and brothers, Roger Temple (Elizabeth) of Crowville, LA, and Vel Temple (Saundra) of Orange, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home from 11:00-12:00 PM, with funeral service immediately following at 12:00 PM. Art will be laid to rest at Fayetteville National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
