Betty L. Payne, age 83, formerly of Muskogee, OK, passed away Friday, November 7th, 2014 in a Fayetteville, AR hospice center. She was born July 26, 1931 to Harry and Emma Thompson in Muskogee, OK. She was raised in Muskogee and graduated in 1949 from Central High School. In 1954 she married Fred J. Wright, her husband of 36 years and in 1960 she graduated from the nursing program at Muskogee General Hospital. She and Fred owned and operated York Manor Nursing Home in Muskogee for 15 years and then later they owned and operated Stardust Skate Arena for 15 years After Fred's death she married Hoyt Payne of Muskogee and at the time of her death, they had been married for 23 years. She is survived by her husband, Hoyt Payne, two daughters, Connie Watson and Jennifer Cox, three step daughters, Joy Williams, Gayle Honea and Jennifer Martin, 5 sons in law, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held November 14th at 11 am at the Muskogee Church of Christ , 3206 N. York. A fellowship will be made to remember Betty. Bring a dish and join in the time of remembrance.
