Byron Harvey Lake, 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Rogers, AR on June 11, 2019. He was born to Lawrence and Marie (Taylor) Lake on June 5, 1936 in Watonga, OK. After graduating from Watonga High School in 1954, he earned his master's degree in Agronomy from Oklahoma State University. He worked for several corporations in Texas, Mississippi, and North Carolina before retiring from Syngenta in California in 1998. He married Betty Strickland Newton in Lubbock, Texas on August 28th, 1976. In 1998, they begun raising their grandson, Brandon Scott. They moved to Rogers, AR in 1998. Byron was preceded in death by his parents, brother David, sister Jeanetta and stepdaughter Vicki Scott. Survivors include his loving wife Betty, son Randy, special grandson Brandon, sister Marilyn Lake Landreth, granddaughters Chrissy, Robin, Amber and 6 great grandchildren. Per Byron's request, no services are planned. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life to be held at the Lakes home in Rogers, AR on Sunday, June 23rd from 2 to 4 p.m.
