Carol Klemme, 74, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at Innisfree Nursing Home in Rogers, Arkansas. She was born January 30, 1952, in Greenfield, Iowa, to George and Joan Stansberry Henson. Carol was one of eight children and was also blessed with three additional half-siblings. Carol met her beloved husband, Eldon, and together they lived in Missouri and Arkansas before settling in Madrid, Iowa, in 1995, where they remained until Eldon’s passing in 2004. After the loss of her husband, Carol spent time traveling and visiting family and friends before returning to Iowa, where she lived until 2024. Carol then chose to spend her remaining years with family in Arkansas. Carol was known for fiercely loving her family and friends, each in her own unique way, and for her one-of-a-kind personality. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her cats, cooking, sewing, and fishing. In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, William “Billy” Henson; sister-in-law, Christine Pinkerton; brother-in-law, Mike Miller; sister-in-law, Marilyn Klemme; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, John and Shirley Morrison; and longtime family friend, Dallas Dickson.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Teresa Draper and her husband, Danny Draper Jr.; sisters, Georgia Gurwell, Linda Miller, Karen Spear and her husband, Jim, Tina McCrory and her husband, Jimmy, Patricia Gregory, and Julia Dealy; nephew, Jerry Klemme; along with many other beloved family and friends who will cherish her memory.
A graveside service will take place August 7, 2026, at Bethany Cemetery in Baxter, Iowa. Service time will be announced at a later date. The family has established an email address, carolksmemories@gmail.com, for anyone wishing to share photographs or memories with the family.
