Obituary

Clarence Applewhite, age 80 of Bentonville and formerly of Cabot, Arkansas, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Veterans Medical Center of the Ozarks in Fayetteville. Clarence was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee on October 31, 1932 to Clarence, Sr. and Henrietta (Robinson) Applewhite. He served his country in the United States Airforce and received an honorable discharge. Clarence was a member of the All Saints' Episcopal Church in Bentonville. Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Clarence is survived by his wife Margaret (DeMarco) Applewhite of the home; two sons, Steve Applewhite and wife Marilyn of New Hampshire; Brent Applewhite and wife Cindy of Florida; two step-sons, Chris DeMarco and wife Charlotte of Georgia; Bryan Thetford and wife Juliann of Michigan; one daughter, Lesa Gann and husband Paul of Little Rock; two step-daughters, Debby Nye and Catherine Lyon both of Bentonville; one brother, James Applewhite and wife Marilyn of Austin, Arkansas; one granddaughter and many friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Friday, May 10, 2013 at the All Saints' Episcopal Church (406 W. Central Ave.) in Bentonville. There will be a reception following funeral services from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the All Saints' Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at the Fayetteville National Cemetery (700 Government Ave.) in Fayetteville with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the All Saints' Episcopal Church Building Fund in honor of Clarence Applewhite.
