Obituary

Claudia A. Cain, age 69, a resident of Bentonville, Arkansas and formerly of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Bradford House Care Center in Bentonville with her family at her side. Claudia Cain was born Claudia Ann Smith to Clyde and Hattie Smith on November 16th 1940 in Thayer Missouri. She was the youngest of 5 children. The oldest were a set of twin boys, Robert and Charles (Married to Zola and Ruth). Next was Betty (Married to Charlie) and then Jim (Married to Marion). The twins have lived in Springfield Missouri their whole lives. Robert has recently passed away and beat Claudia to heaven by just 2 days. Sounds just like a big brother. Betty also lives in Springfield Missouri. Jim was the adventurer. He moved to California as a young man and still resides there. Claudia had one Son, Shawn and wonderful Daughter in-law Sandie (She called Sandie her Daughter). Sandie's family adopted Claudia as well. One Granddaughter Whitney and her husband Tyler Matheson. One Great-grandson, Javen. She also had a wonderful church family at New Life Apostolic Church. As a young girl she learned to play piano by ear and could play most anything. In her twenties she took a career as a bookkeeper. By her early thirties she had managed to travel most of Europe. In her fifties she had to file for disability, but it didn't slow her down. Claudia was a tough lady, she was a fighter, she never asked anybody for anything, she took care of herself and was good at it. She even managed to help a few people along the way. Some of the things she enjoyed for herself were playing the piano, sketching, painting, cooking new creations for family get togethers and of course her cat Nikki. Claudia loved the Lord, going to church, reading the Bible and praying for her family and friends. She was an inspiration to everyone around her. Age had no bearing on who she related to. She had a zest for life that was unrivaled. She loved people and liked making them laugh even more. Claudia will be sorely missed, but she will live on in the hearts of those who love her. Right now she is with her parents, brother and Jesus celebrating their victory in Heaven! Preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert L. Smith; Claudia is survived by one son, Shawn Wright and wife Sandie of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two brothers, Charles Smith and wife Ruth of Springfield, Missouri; Jim Smith and wife Marion of California; one sister, Betty Jones and husband Charlie of Springfield, Missouri; one granddaughter, Whitney Matheson and husband Tyler of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one great grandson, Javen Matheson of Bella Vista; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Memorial services will be on Sunday, August, 15, 2010 at 11:00 am at the New Life Apostolic Church in Rogers (410 West Birch, Rogers, AR 72758) with Pastor Michael Gates officiating.
