Obituary

Constance Lorraine Hansen-Kuske went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 27, 2026, at age 91, after a full, active, and loving life.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Donald Hansen; her sister, Kathryn Wolf Quiram; and great granddaughter, Julia Braymen. She is survived by her children, Leslie (Mark) Newman and Todd (Kathleen) Hansen; brother, Jim (Pat) Wolf, grandchildren, Lindsey (Noah) Braymen, Eric (Dr. Jessica) Newman, Whitney (Steve) Stefanko, Dr. Spencer (Alessandra) Hansen, and Dexter Hansen; and great grandchildren, Noelle, Oliver, Lottie, and Lazarus Braymen; Whitney and Paisley Newman; and baby Stefanko, who is on the way. She is also survived by nephews David, Tom, Daniel and Tim Quiram, and her second husband, Duane Kuske residing in Texas, along with a host of beloved extended family and friends.

Connie was born on October 19, 1934, to Amanda (Betty) Mortensen Wolf and Fred Louis Wolf. She grew up in Davenport, Iowa, where she loved riding the family’s horses, boating, and spending time with her Father’s family in the Amana Colonies. Always a fashionable lady, after graduating from Davenport High School, she spent time traveling to NYC as a fashion buyer in the 1950’s for a Davenport ladies clothing store.

She married her husband, Dr. Donald Hansen, on August 6, 1955. They raised two children together, Leslie and Todd, and spent almost 55 years of married life together until his passing in 2010. They enjoyed traveling together internationally and spending time boating on the Mississippi River. Connie could be seen working at the Main Vision Clinic part-time to help support Dr. Hansen’s Optometric practice.

Connie was a gourmet cook and loved to host elegant dinner parties for family and friends. She was an accomplished artist and created phenomenal pottery that continues to be treasured. She had a love for animals and spent decades breeding dogs and winning awards at dog shows nationwide, where she showed Standard Poodles and Bichons Frises. A lover of music, Connie was often singing. She also had a passion for interior design and flower arranging for family, church, and weddings. Always active, she enjoyed spending time on the golf course, even late in life. She was a member of Oak Ridge Bible Chapel in Milan, Illinois, for many years, where she loved singing hymns and hearing the gospel preached. She moved to Bentonville, Arkansas in 2011 to be closer to family.

She will be remembered by family as a loving, opinionated woman who had a zest for life, loved to create, always wore heels, never slowed down, and never settled for a mediocre meal. She always poured herself into the lives of her beloved children, and grandchildren, who knew her as “Nonnie.” She loved spending time with them and cheering them on. She dearly loved her great grandchildren, welcoming them with hugs, cookies, pottery lessons, and bug hunts. Most of all, she loved her Savior, Jesus. She spent her last days telling of His faithfulness and singing, “When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation, and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow, in humble adoration, and then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art.”

A private burial and celebration of life will be scheduled in Davenport, Iowa, at a later date.
