Darla Ann Sherry, age 81 of Rogers, Arkansas passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born June 1, 1942 in Muleshoe, Texas to the late John and Bertha Marie Johnson. On August 2, 1963, she married Max Sherry in Springdale, Arkansas. Darla was a resident of Arkansas for her entire life. She started her accounting career with Georges Poultry, and ended her career at Akin Enterprise until she retired. In her free time, she loved sewing and spending time with her family. Darla had a passion for cooking and published her very own cookbook, "I Want That Recipe". She was a loyal member of the Central United Methodist Church of Rogers and cooked many bereavement meals for the congregation. She had a giving spirit and was also a member of and held several officer positions with the Philanthropic Educational Organization Sisterhood in both Russellville and Rogers. Darla will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Johnson and her sister, Kay Cox.
Darla is survived by her husband, Max Sherry of Rogers; son, Craig Sherry and wife, Kim, of Edmond, Oklahoma; two daughters, Jaye Berger of Houston, Texas, Rhonda Findley and husband, Ron, of Springdale, Arkansas; four grandsons, Max of Montgomery, Alabama, Mitchell of Missoula, Montana, Cole of New Braunfels, Texas, Brandon stationed in North Carolina; four granddaughters, Sidney of Denver, Colorado, Emily of Houston, Texas, Meredith of Springdale, Jordan of Rogers; two great-grandchildren, Ridge of Springdale, Harper of Montgomery, Alabama; a host of family and friends.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the Central United Methodist Church, 2535 W New Hope Rd, Rogers, Arkansas. The family requests memorials be sent to P.E.O. Chapter U of Arkansas/Loraine Schilling Fund Scholarship, P.E.O. Executive Office, Treasurer Department, 3700 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa, 50312. Arrangements are under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park & Funeral Home, (479) 636-2412.
