IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Darlene
Ellis
December 10, 1945 – July 12, 2025
Darlene Ellis, 79, of Bentonville, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at her home. She was born December 10, 1945, in Wilmont, Arkansas, to Otha Anthony and Mary Goodson Anthony. Darlene lived a life rich with joy, compassion and curiosity. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished sister, an amazing aunt and a dear friend to many. Her presence brought comfort, her laughter brought joy and her heart knew no bounds.
A lifelong lover of books, Darlene found joy in the written word, and she was rarely without a good novel nearby. She had a passion for travel and delighted in exploring new places, meeting new people and collecting memories along the way. She also enjoyed playing games, whether a quiet card game or a lively family board game. Above all, she treasured the time spent with those she loved most, but nothing reflected her love more than the way she cooked. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and welcome, filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals and the laughter of loved ones gathered around the table. She nourished not just with food, but with care, tradition and an open heart. Her life was rich in experiences, guided by curiosity and grounded in love. Her legacy of love, kindness, joy and really good food lives on in her family and in the many lives she touched. She will be remembered always and missed dearly.
Darlene is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, Charles Ellis, two devoted children, two blessed grandsons, her sister and an abundance of nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her beyond measure. She was the heart of her family, always finding joy in simple moments spent together.
