IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Lynn
Coonfield
January 6, 1943 – March 10, 2026
Funeral Service
David Lynn Coonfield, 83, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, peacefully in his sleep at Rogers Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born January 6, 1943, in Rogers to the late Virgil and Veda (Jackson) Coonfield. On December 12, 1987, he was married to Beverly Ann Woods in Las Vegas, Nevada. David was known for his charismatic personality and his ability to find humor in unexpected places. He loved sharing stories and had a deep appreciation for the people, places and history of Northwest Arkansas.
At just fifteen years old, David enlisted in The United States Marine Corps, and he successfully completed boot camp. After finishing training and learning that he would be sent to Okinawa if he remained enlisted, he revealed his true age, which ended his time with The Marines. At eighteen, he joined The United States Air Force during The Cuban Missile Crisis. During his service, he was stationed in England, Spain and Goose Bay, Labrador. He often joked that during that time he “helped save the world.”
David graduated from The University of Arkansas and went on to work for The Internal Revenue Service for sixteen years. After leaving The IRS, he opened his own tax and bookkeeping business. Together with his wife, Beverly, he served clients throughout Northwest Arkansas for many years, building lasting relationships with those who trusted them with their financial needs. David enjoyed taking long Sunday drives along the backroads of Arkansas. He loved exploring small towns and countryside roads while telling stories about the history and people of Northwest Arkansas.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by two brothers: Clyde Coonfield and C.H. Coonfield and one sister, Maryann Bailey. Survivors include his wife of thirty-eight years, Beverly Coonfield; two sons: Russell Coonfield and Clinton Coonfield and one granddaughter, Ronin Coonfield.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Grace Baptist Church, 2409 W. New Hope Road in Rogers. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home in Rogers.
