Dixie Joy Tuorto, age 73 of Rogers, passed away at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville on January 23, 2014. Dixie was born February 29, 1940 in Bradenton, Florida to parents Herbert and Pauline Husen. She was united in marriage to William Tuorto on October 20, 1963 in Fairfield, Ct. and they enjoyed more than fifty years together. In earlier years, Dixie was presented at her Cotillion from Farleigh Dickenson University held at the Plaza Hotel in New York. She enjoyed singing in her church choir, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a resident of Rogers for twelve years and prior to that time had lived in the Lubbock, Texas area where she worked as a school librarian. Dixie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Tuorto of Rogers; son, Christopher Tuorto and wife Marie of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Stacy Tuorto Cooper and husband Darron of Bentonville and grandchildren, Cole and Carter Tuorto and Chase and Madison Cooper. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W.Walnut, Rogers.
