Donald "Papa Don" Fry, age 78, of Bentonville passed away March 11, 2014. Don was born June 27, 1935, in Mound City, Mo., to parents Phillip Fry and Edith Mary Maples Fry. As a young man, Don served in the United States Navy. He was united in marriage to Shirley Irene Moore on May 22, 1954, and they enjoyed 60 years together. Don worked for many years as a machinist at Emerson Electric and enjoyed being outside. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Allen and Stanley; and one sister, Phyllis. Don is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home; two sons, Gary Lee Fry and wife, Fran, of Bella Vista, and Frank Fry and wife, Cherla, of Centerton; daughter, Mary Eileen Fry of Centerton; brothers, Jerry, Wallace and Bruce Fry; sisters, Betty Ledford and Pansy Gibbs; grandchildren, Shannon, Daniel, D.J., Joshua, Kendra, Michael, Peter, Tyler; great-grandchildren, Tristen and Camden; and a host of relatives and friends. Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers.
