Donald Poole, age 90 of Bella Vista passed away May 11, 2011 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. Don was born December 16, 1920 at Stillwater, Oklahoma to parents Clarence and Edna Poole. Don was a graduate of Oklahoma State University and was also a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. At the conclusion of World War II, Don began work as a Biologist for the Army Corps of Engineers, eventually retiring in 1975. Don was also a past president of the Bella Vista Property Owners Association. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Velda Marie Poole who passed away in 1996 as well as his parents. He is survived by his son, Donald Poole Jr. and wife Deborah of Fort Myers, Florida; brother, Calvin Poole and wife Nina of Lake Norfork, Missouri; grandchildren, Megan Mutti and husband James of Peoria, Illinois, Andrew Poole of Denver, Colorado, Jennifer Gensler and husband Mark of Kansas City, Tarah Smithmier and Ryan Smithmier and wife Kristin also of Kansas City. Don is also survived by three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. There will be no public services at the request of the deceased. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Circle of Life Hospice of Northwest Arkansas.
