IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy Lee
Snediker
February 14, 1936 – June 19, 2025
Dorothy Lee Snediker, a woman of deep compassion, quiet strength and unwavering devotion to the Lord and to those she loved, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on February 14, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, to Alvin (Al) Myron and Catherine (Kitty) Stella Coope, Dorothy lived a life marked by warmth, generosity and a deep-rooted Christian faith. Whether through a kind word, a homemade meal, her bold testimony or a moment of thoughtful silence, she had a way of making others feel truly seen and cherished. Her active faith was expressed through Pro-Life Advocacy, supporting the Salvation Army and giving to missionaries. She was a true intercessor whose prayer list filled the pages of many notebooks.
Dorothy "Dottie" married Richard "Dick" Douglas Snediker in 1954. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, hard work and love. She raised her family with sound wisdom, teaching by example the values of kindness, perseverance and humility. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, teaching children's Sunday School, helping in the church nursery, reading books, rooting for The Chicago Cubs or sewing custom clothing for her granddaughters and for American Girl Dolls. Her home was a haven, her smile a comfort, her humor brought joy and her presence was a gift.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Al and Kitty, and her husband, Dick. She is survived by two children, Steve Snediker and Linda Oliver, both of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, her brother, James Coope of Portland, Oregon, her sister-in-law, Nancy Ward of Delavan, Wisconsin, five grandchildren, Daniel Motz of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Timothy Snediker of Columbus, Ohio, Amanda Wooden of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Claire Pongonis of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Theresa Snediker of Siloam Springs, four great grandchildren, Jaylan, Ida, Greta and Aaron, who will carry forward her legacy of faith, kindness and quiet courage.
Her life will be celebrated at a celebration of life service at a date in the near future with family and friends invited to share stories, memories and gratitude for the beautiful life she lived. In honoring Dottie, we remember not only what she gave, but how she gave it with grace, humility and a heart open to all.
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." — Psalm 23:6 May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Rogers, Arkansas.
