Edward "Whitey" Ettien, age 84, a resident of LaRue, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 at his home. Edward was born in Rogers on April 3, 1927 to Jean and Pauline (Plume) Ettien. Edward served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and received an honorable discharge. He was the owner/operator of Ettien's Excavation and really enjoyed fishing. Edward loved spending time with his family and friends and he will be missed very much. Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph and Freddie Ettien; and one grandson, Christopher Weidner; Edward is survived by his wife Evelyn Ettien of the home in LaRue; three sons, Edward "Eddy" Ettien and wife Debbie of Avoca; John Weidner and wife Sylvia of Illinois; Charles Ettien and wife Mary Beth of Illinois; one daughter, Carolyn Sue Baker and husband Bob of Kentucky; one brother, David Ettien and wife Peggy of Wentzville, Missouri; one sister, Leah Ettien of Seattle, Washington; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Joanna, Michele, Jean-Paul, Heidi, Emily, Ryan, Matthew, Bradley; fourteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Celebration of Life service will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Benton County Memorial Park's Funeral Home Chapel (3800 W. Walnut) in Rogers, Arkansas with Reverends Tommy Hinson and Jack Bedford officiating.
