Edward J Swanson, 92 of Bella Vista, passed away September 8th, 2020. He was born and raised in Sioux City, IA. He worked for Iowa Public Service Co., in Sioux City for thirty years, retiring to Bella Vista in 1989. He was a member of the Nordic Male Chorus in Sioux City, the Bella Vista Men's Choir and the First United Methodist Church choir in Bella Vista. Singing was his passion and great joy, he was a fantastic soloist and often sang at weddings. He was active in the First United Methodist Church, volunteered with Helping Hands and was always the first to offer help to his family, friends and neighbors. He was an avid fisherman and horseshoe player. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, of 69 years, daughter, Diane Cassel and her husband, Jerry, of Plano, TX, son, Tom Swanson, of Costa Rica, daughter, Susan Tillman of Bella Vista, grandsons, Jeremy Dill, of Plano, TX, Zachary Dill, and his wife, Whitney, great grandson, Henry, of Van Alstyne, TX, and Austin Cassel, of Dallas, TX. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista.
