Elizabeth Ann Giroir, 92, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Born on September 15, 1931, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late John and Myrtle Keen Goins, Elizabeth lived a life full of love, creativity, and dedication.
At the tender age of 19, Elizabeth married her lifelong partner, Kenneth Giroir, in Houma, Louisiana, on May 6, 1951. Together, they cherished and raised their beloved daughter, Kelli. Elizabeth devoted many years as a stay-at-home mother and wife, nurturing her family with unwavering love and care. In 1989, she embarked on a career with Wal-Mart, working in the logistics and transportation offices before retiring from Wal-Mart corporate in 1994.
Elizabeth was a devoted member of Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers, Arkansas, and a long-time member of Bella Vista Community Church. Her passion for music shone through as she played the piano and often composed original songs and music. She also enjoyed gardening, painting, and woodworking, crafting beautiful wooden ornaments and home décor. Known for her famous baked spaghetti and Creole recipes, Elizabeth delighted in cooking for her family, creating meals filled with love.
Above all, Elizabeth was a loving wife, an amazing mother, and a cherished grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Giroir, her parents, John and Myrtle Goins, and her brother, John T. Goins.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Kelli Swank; grandson, Matt Swank; sister, Sue Jones; nephews, Kevin Benton and his wife, Gayla, Ronnie Holtz and his wife, Carol, John Goins and his wife, Linda; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Giroir's life will 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church, 203 S. Promenade Blvd, Rogers, AR 72758.
Elizabeth will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Kenneth at Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
