Evan "Kirby" Nelson, age 79 of Rogers, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 in Rogers. Kirby was born in Hospers, Iowa on December 18, 1932 to Frances C. and Nellie (Jones) Nelson. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge. Kirby worked for the Rogers School District for many years and he enjoyed playing golf and boating and fishing. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Kirby is survived by his wife Ginger of the home; one son; three daughters; one sister; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Private services will be held.
