Evelyn Sikes Martin, 91, of Temple Terrace, Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing. She had recently relocated to Rogers, Arkansas to live with her daughter. Born August 20, 1923, Mrs. Martin grew up in Lacoochee, FL where she worked in the crate mill and business office of the late Cummer Sons Cypress Company. She also worked in the business office of Pasco Packing Company. She moved to Temple Terrace after she married in 1956 to the late John D. Martin, where she was employed as the secretary to the state overseer and state youth director for the Churches of God in Florida. She and her late husband were successful distributors in the Amway Company. She was a member of the Sulphur Springs/University Church of God and most recently, the Riverhills Church of God. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Denton Martin. She is survived by two daughters and one son: Denise (Philip) Morris of Sevierville, TN and Donna (Steve) Ramsey of Rogers, AR, Dale (Danette) Martin of Temple Terrace. Four grandchildren: John Morris and Hope Morris of Sevierville, Julie (Anthony) Mikles of Sevierville, and Jenna Martin of Temple Terrace. Two great-grandchildren: Isaiah and Levi Mikles of Sevierville. One brother, Richard Lawson "Bud" Sikes of Arlington, TX, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Tampa, Florida on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 1 pm with the Reverend Philip C. Morris, Jr., officiating.
