Frances Burwell Shelburne Warner, of Razorback Road, Rogers, Arkansas, died Monday, December 13, 2010, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Robert Shelburne of Asheville, N.C. She is survived by her sister, Anne Pettus Shelburne (her husband Steven R. Hunsicker) of Washington, D.C., and her brother, Dr. Robert Craig Shelburne Jr. (his wife Charlotte C. Edmonds) of Geneva, Switzerland, and by her former husband, James C. Warner, of Boston, Mass. Frances was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1957 and grew up in Asheville, N.C. She attended the University of Tennessee where she graduated with Honors with a degree in accounting. Before moving to Arkansas in 2004, she lived and worked for many years in Washington, D.C. She began her career as an auditor with the accounting firm of Ernst & Whinney, and later held the position of Controller for both the Old Post Office Pavilion as well as the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington D.C. During the 1980s she was the Director of Financial Services for the law firm of Miller and Chevalier as well as the law firm of Reed Smith Shaw and McClay. Later she became Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the nonprofit, Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Frances will be buried in the Shelburne family cemetery in southwest Virginia.
