Fred Herman Wenzel, a retired businessman, died October 9, 2018 at his son's home. He grew up in St. Louis, MO and attended John Burroughs School. He completed his undergraduate degree at Harvard College and Northwestern University and completed his MBA at Washington University in St. Louis. He began his career in business with Wenzel Company, founded by his great-grandfather in 1887. When Wenzel Company branched out to The West, he helped to open its Hawthorn Plant in 1963 in St. George, UT and moved his family there in 1968. A few years later, he created his own Company, KBC/Printers Supply Company and retired in 2006. He and his family enjoyed traveling and skiing in winter and boating and canoeing each summer at their cabin on Lake Vermilion in Northern MN. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Cole Wenzel, and his three children--Keith (Michelle) FL, Brian (Jennifer) OK, and Carolyn Sue Schott TN and five grandchildren--Sara Schott, Cole Schott, Jacob Schott, Samantha Wenzel, and Zach Wenzel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Helen Wenzel, and his sister, Joan Wenzel Ruehl. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
