George LeRoy Carnes, age 75, a resident of Anderson, Missouri and formerly of Seligman, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in Neosho, Missouri. George was born in Liverpool, Ohio on February 2, 1936 to Charles Wesley and Arizona Rose (Virden) Carnes. George worked as a welder for many years and was a member of the House of Prayer Church in Rogers. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, signing, and going to church. George loved his family and he will be missed very much. Preceded in death by his wife Alice Faye (Young) Carnes in 2004; his parents; seven brothers; two sisters; three grandchildren, Pammy Sue LaValley; Craig Karl LaValley; Michael Wesley Carnes; one great grandson; Tanner Ethan Carnes; George is survived by two sons, Mark Carnes and wife Carolyn of Avoca; Mike Carnes and wife Connie of Garfield; four daughters, Alvina Scheile and husband Chris of Eureka Springs; Pamela Garcia and husband Juan of Seligman; Tina McKinney and husband Gene of Lamar, Arkansas; Georgia Stamper and husband David of Seligman; three brothers; Lawrence Carnes of Ohio; Fearl Carnes and wife Joyce of Ohio; Carl Carnes of Pennsylvania; sixteen grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Celebration of Life services will be 6:00 pm, Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the House of Prayer Church in Rogers with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating.
