George “Jim” Buttrey of Rogers, Arkansas passed away on May 2, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 87. Jim was born on November 11, 1938 in Red Rock, Iowa to Ted Buttrey and Alberta (Coe) Buttrey.
Jim joined the armed forces serving in both the Army and Air Force. Jim married his wife Linda on November 20, 1970 in Chillicothe, Missouri. Together, they had two sons, David and Michael. Jim was a proud member of the Masonic organization. He made a career as a tool maker in the electrical power production industry. Jim and Linda spent the last 30 years calling Northwest Arkansas home.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Alberta, and one grandchild, David James “DJ” Buttrey.
Jim is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Michael Buttrey and wife Kristii of Rogers, Arkansas, David Buttrey of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; one sister, Martha Thomas of Winterset, Iowa; 8 grandchildren, Jessica Buttrey of Colorado, Joey Buttrey of Bentonville, Arkansas, Destiny Buttrey of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Britton Jones of Seattle, Washington, Collin Roberts and wife Allie of Bradley, Arkansas, Sydney Oldham and husband Tanner of Washburn, Missouri, Cody Roberts of Rogers, Arkansas, and Deqlyn Buttrey of Little Rock, Arkansas; 6 Great-Grandchildren.
A visitation for Jim will be on May 16, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home in Rogers, Arkansas.
