Gordon Meeds, 88, of Rogers, Ark., went to meet his heavenly father Jan. 5, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Vesta Meeds; sisters, Dorothy Meeds and Juanita Martin; brothers, Davis, Meryl, Calvin and Leo Meeds and son-in-law, Robert Pierce. Gordon is survived by his wife of 70 years, Georgene Meeds; daughters, Edith Pierce, Dorothy and husband Henry Gray; son, Gayle and wife Diane Meeds, 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Gordon grew up a farm boy in rural Baxter Springs, Kan. He worked in the coal mines and was a dairy farmer. He then moved to Valley Center, Kan., in the 1950s and joined his brothers in the carpentry business. Together they developed part of the town. Gordon later moved to rural Eureka Springs, Ark., started a woodshop business and built homes. He retired in Rogers, Ark. Memorial services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers. Memorial 1:00 PM Saturday, January 12th, 2013
