Herbert Hancock, 84, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 after a brief battle with cancer. Herbert was born on August 25, 1941, in Valley Springs, Arkansas to the late Richard E. and Alicia May Bowling Hancock. Herbert was raised in Arkansas and lived most of his life in Rogers. He cared deeply for his family and community, always ready to help those around him. Herbert worked hard and earned the respect of his coworkers as well as neighbors. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and sharing stories with his family and friends. His smile and kindness brightened the days of everyone he met. He was a loving husband, wonderful father, uncle and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Herbert Hancock will be remembered for his kindness and caring spirit. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Glenda and Lotis.

He is survived by his wife, Opal Slape Hancock of the home; son, Mitchell Hancock of Atlanta, Georgia; siblings, Paul Hancock of Fort Worth, Texas, Joann Willis of Harrison, Arkansas, Donna Bleth of Vancouver, Washington and Donald Hancock of Everton, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Benton County Memorial Park & Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Benton County Memorial Park. The family welcomes all who knew Herbert to join them in sharing memories and saying goodbye.
