Howard Rice, age 73, a resident of Rogers, Arkansas and formerly of Hindsville, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 at his home in Rogers. Howard was born in Hindsville, Arkansas on November 2, 1937 to Levi and Ruth (Walker) Rice. On November 6, 1958 he married Girdie Easter in Huntsville, Arkansas and they were married for over 52 years before his death. Howard worked for Clorox in Rogers and he enjoyed fishing, working in his shop, and spending time with his family, and he will be missed very much. Preceded in death by his parents Levi and Ruth Rice; three brothers, Johnny Rice; Ike Rice; Ben Rice; two sisters, Thelma Rice; Juanita Shepherd; Howard is survived by his wife Girdie Rice of the home in Rogers, Arkansas; five sons, Bobby Rice and wife Laura of Rogers, Arkansas; Ronnie Rice of Rogers, Arkansas; Danny Rice of Rogers, Arkansas; Michael Rice and wife Jennifer of Rogers, Arkansas; Howard J. Rice and wife Rachel of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; two daughters, Catherine Lane and husband Tim of Garfield, Arkansas; Kelly Wallace and husband Tommy of Powell, Missouri; one brother, Arlie Rice and wife Dolores of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sisters, Lorene McKenzie and husband Allen of Cave Springs, Arkansas; Ethel Mayes and husband Daryl of Hindsville, Arkansas; twenty grandchildren; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home (3800 W. Walnut, Rogers, AR 72758). Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the House of Prayer (2620 NE Hudson Rd., Rogers, AR 72756) with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Pratt Cemetery Garfield, Arkansas.
