James Harold Browning, age 88 of Rogers, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Innisfree Nursing and Rehab in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born on August 5, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to the late John Harold Browning and Inez Lenore Smith. On May 25, 1980, he married Gloria Jean Goldman Browning in Decatur, Illinois. James retired from the Texas School System as a schoolteacher in 1997 before moving to Northwest Arkansas where he taught as a substitute teacher in Benton County. He was also a Pastor at Remnant Church of Latter-Day Saints in Rogers. Mr. Browning loved watching the Arkansas Razorback basketball team. He had a passion for teaching as well as joke telling – he had over 250 jokes memorized. James loved not only his Church, but most of all, his family. Mr. Browning was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Browning.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Timothy James Browning and Brynja Browning of Baldwin City, Kansas; daughter and son-in-law, Katrina Marie Schmidt and Hector Schmidt of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas; daughter and son-in-law Kayla Daniele McDaniel and Wes McDaniel of Anderson, Missouri; step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Terry Stroud and Gary Stroud of Maryland; step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Tony Goldman and Lori Goldman of Illinois; step-daughter, Anna Monk of Michigan; brother and sister-in-law, John Browning and Janice Browning of Indiana; sister and brother-in-law, Lynda Belcher and George Belcher of Pana, Illinois; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
