James Hankins, 80-year-old resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away on December 3rd, 2024. He was born November 24th, 1944, in Dover, Arkansas, to the late Odus Hankins and Verna Freeman. James was raised by his mother and step-father, John Carson. James joined the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was an RIO of an F-4 Phantom-II. He had many compelling stories from his time served, and he was very proud of the time he gave for our country. James met Carol Sue while they both attended college. They were married on November 12th, together they raised a loving family. James enjoyed watching Westerns and going out fishing. Anytime not spent on the lake, was time wasted. James was preceded in death by his wife Carol Sue Hankins; parents, Verna and John Carson; sister, Christine; and son John Hankins.

James is survived by his son, James 'Kelly' Hankins and his wife, Christina; grandchildren, Sarah Hankins, Scott Hankins, Tanner Hankins, and Madison Hankins; sister Cheryl and her husband, Rocky; and many more friends, loved ones, and family.
