Obituary

James "Jimmy" L. Kimble, 80, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in Bentonville, Arkansas, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Jim was born June 22, 1945, in Washington, D.C., to the late Kenneth and "Smitty" Kimble. Jim was raised in Chevy Chase, Maryland and attended The Landon School, where he was a member of the varsity swimming team. Upon graduating in 1964, he enrolled at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. At Denison, Jim was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, served as general manager, and was a star receiver on the fraternity's championship football team. He was also known for dominating the pool tables in the student union. Jim built a close-knit circle of friends with whom he kept lifelong bonds. He graduated from Denison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in June 1968. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from The George Washington University Law School in June 1971. For more than two decades, Jim worked as a lobbyist for The American Insurance Association, a trade association representing approximately 300 insurance companies. He regularly testified before Congressional committees offering expertise on the era's most significant insurance-related legislation. Elected officials from both sides of the aisle sought his valued insights. After leaving the AIA, Jim entered private practice in the Washington, D.C., area, where he specialized in veterans' rights. While living in the nation's capital, he discovered a passion for backgammon that perfectly suited his analytical mind. He won numerous championships and rose to be ranked third in the state of Florida. Jim loved teaching the game to others, and his students went on to excel. Jim met Marsha Rose, the love of his life. On September 23, 2003, they married on the beach in St. Augustine, Florida, where they settled after retirement. In 2017, Jim and Marsha relocated to Northwest Arkansas, making Rogers their home. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his younger brother, Billy Kimble.

Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-two years, Marsha Kimble of the home.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Caring Friends , a respite ministry for the care givers of patients with Alzheimer's disease in Jim's honor.
