Obituary

James Michael Stewart, 65, of Noel, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2024, in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born on November 7, 1958, in Davenport, Iowa, to James R. and June Stewart.

Mike, as he was known to friends and family, spent many years working as a lineman. His career wasn't just a job to him—it was a calling. Mike took great pride in the hard work and dedication his profession demanded. Over the years, he accumulated countless stories from his time on the job, stories he loved to share with those around him, always managing to bring a smile to their faces. His sense of humor was one of his defining qualities, and his laughter was contagious.

Though Mike was devoted to his work, his greatest passion was his family. He cherished the moments spent with his children and found immense joy in being a grandfather to Shamari and Iyonna. Mike was happiest when surrounded by his loved ones, whether at home or during family gatherings. He especially enjoyed fishing trips with his father, brother, and son, creating memories they will forever hold close to their hearts.

In addition to his love for family and work, Mike had a special bond with his dog, Derail. The two were inseparable, and Derail was more than just a pet—he was Mike's loyal companion and confidant.

Mike's heart was as big as his smile. His kindness, generosity, and genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a man who lived simply but loved deeply. He will be remembered for his warmth, his stories, and his ability to make everyone feel at ease in his presence.

Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Teri L. Bishop, with whom he shared a close bond throughout their lives.

He is survived by his beloved children, Jami Dugan, James R. Stewart, and Megan L. Stewart, and his grandchildren, Shamari and Iyonna. He also leaves behind his loving parents, James R. Stewart (Mary Anne) and June Sullens (Steve); his brothers, Jack Myers (Tona) and Chad Stewart (Melanie); and his brother-in-law, Michael D. Bishop. Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends will miss him dearly.
