James B. Sanford, age 65 of Rogers, passed away March 19, 2014. James was born December 7, 1948 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to parents Charles Sanford and Patricia Keating Sanford. James began his career as a Peace Corps volunteer, followed by 28 years in the U.S. Foreign Service. As a career Diplomat, he served in many posts around the world. James enjoyed fishing, hiking, photography, parasailing and scuba diving. James was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Larry Sanford and John Sanford. He is survived by siblings, Shirley Roy of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Krieger of Rogers, Barbara Conrad and husband John of Rogers, Mary Pat Sanford of Rogers, sister in law, Connie Sanford of Dallas, Texas, Joseph Sanford and wife Kathy of Fort Smith, Theresa Phillips and husband Steve of Greenwood, Arkansas, Charlotte Sharp and husband Larry of Coweta, Oklahoma and 25 nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends make donations to the charity of their choice. A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M., Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Heritage Bay Condominium Club House, 16889 Heritage Bay Rd., Rogers, AR 72756. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers. Visitation 3:00 PM Saturday, March 29th, 2014
