James "Jimmy" Schulthess, age 76 of Rogers, passed away November 3, 2022. Jimmy was born September 26, 1946 in Hutchinson, Kansas to parents Glen Schulthess and Maxine Ketterman Schulthess. He was a graduate of Kansas State University and later attended the Arizona State College of Law. It was at this time that Jimmy began a career working with greyhounds and was later dubbed "the best greyhound trainer in the country". He had a great love for animals and most especially dogs. Over the years, he raced and lived in West Memphis, Arkansas as well as St. Petersburg, Florida and greatly enjoyed reading, golf, hiking, boating on Beaver Lake and spending time with family and friends. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Dolly Ross Lyon of the home; daughters, Amy Schulthess Venable and husband Jason of St. Petersburg, Florida, Kelli Schulthess and husband Patrick Adams of Reading, Pennsylvania; sister, Linda Schrock of Haven, Kansas; brother, John Schulthess of Hutchinson, Kansas; nephew, Keith Engweiler of Haven, Kansas; niece, Nancy Belden of Austin, Texas; his daughters' mother, Jane Schulthess of St. Petersburg, Florida; granddaughter, Janey Venable and a host of other relatives and friends. At Jimmy's request no services will be held.
