J.D. Hobbs, 93 passed away on June 11, 2011 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born September 14, 1917 in Montague,Texas to Richard L. and Pet Wood Hobbs. He had 7 brothers and 1 sister that preceded him in death. He grew up in Oklahoma and lived most of his adult life in New Mexico. He always had a passion for trucks, which led him to becoming a Professional Truck Driver. He owned his own truck for a while in the 1940's and early 50's where he hauled fertilizer and ore. During the 1950's he began driving a gasoline tanker and continued that for 30 years where he had a perfect driving record. In his latter years he hauled cotton, hay, hogs and cattle for Glen Lyle Trucking Company in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He moved to Arkansas 7 years ago and was a resident of Shiloh Health and Rehab in Springdale. He married Lucile Parnell in Waurika, Oklahoma November 30, 1935 whom he was married to for 25 years. She preceded him in death in September 1986. His survivors include 4 daughters, Margie Davis and her husband Thomas of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Ruby Bratcher and her husband Leo of Heber Springs, Arkansas. Jean Bolinger of Springdale, and Judy Neill of Rogers. 8 grandsons; Allen Davis of Casa Grande, Arizona, Randy Davis of Lubbock, Texas, Danny Davis of Washington, Indiana, Mike Davis of Vancouver, Washington, Richard and Jerry Bratcher of Springdale, David Bratcher of Heber Springs and Brian Neill of Rogers; 2 granddaughters; Barbara Suggs of Rogers and Brandee Madewell of Springdale; 16 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a Special Thank you to the staff at Shiloh Health and Rehab, Circle of Life Hospice, and to Dr. Naeem and Dr. Davila that provided tender loving care to him. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers. His final resting place will be Las Cruces, New Mexico.
