Jean Stayton, age 89 a resident of Bentonville, Arkansas and formerly a long-time resident of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the Peiffer Assisted Living Center in Jane, Missouri. Jean was born in Kansas City, Kansas on December 9, 1921 to John L. and Eva (Miller) Mabry. On January 14, 1947 she married Arthur Ray Stayton and they were married for over 48 years before Arthur's death in 1995. Jean worked as beautician for many years and she really enjoyed showing her arts and crafts at fairs and the War Eagle Mill Craft shows. Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Ray Stayton and her parents; four brothers John Mabry; George Mabry; Jerry Mabry; Jack Mabry; and one sister, Dolly Carter; Jean is survived by one step-son, Jack Stayton and wife LaVerne of Sacramento, California; two daughters, Linda Jean Johns of Salem, Oregon; Deborah A. Smith and husband Terry of Rogers, Arkansas; three sisters-in-law, Donna Mabry of Florida; Janet Mabry of Missouri; Judy Mabry of Kansas; six grandchildren, Michael F. Johns and wife Patricia of Sacramento, California; Dorothy Jean DeFour and husband Robert of Medford, Oregon; James D. Smith and wife Stacie of Rogers, Arkansas; Chad S. Smith and wife Alison of Centerton, Arkansas; Jack R. Stayton of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; Kathy Greeve of Sacramento, California; seven great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Celebration of Life Services will be Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the home of Deborah A. Smith in Rogers, Arkansas.
