Jerry Maxe Thomas, age 76 of Hiwasse, Ark., passed away March 14, 2014. Jerry was born on Dec. 5, 1937, in Anson, Texas, to parents Jewel Dean Thomas and Mae Holloway Thomas. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator and later as a farmer. Jerry was very spiritual and enjoyed reading, especially history. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley in 2008; parents and one sister, Arva Goodwin. Jerry is survived by his sons, Bill Thomas of Centerton, Tim Lazar of Hiwasse and Chris Thomas of Siloam Springs; sister, Shirley Brick of Rogers; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers.
