Joe Howard Lasater, age 92, passed from this life into his heavenly eternal life on April 4, 2015 from complications of a stroke at the Circle of Life Legacy Village Hospice In Bentonville with his wife and family by his side. Joe was born on June 29, 1922 in Pea Ridge to Abbie Vivian Mount Lasater and Robert Allen"Jim" Lasater. Joe enjoyed being outdoors, riding horses and being with family and extended family. In his later years he enjoyed dancing at Snow's Red Barn in Jacket, MO. He and Mary Ann were charter members of the Pea Ridge Free Will Baptist Church where he was a deacon for 40 years. In the mid 1990's Joe became of the Methodist faith and later he and Mary Ann became members of the Oakley Chapel UMC. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp (Air Force) in October 1942 and was honorably discharged in January 1946. After returning home he and his older brother, Jack owned and operated the Lasater Brothers Phillips 66 Station, buying and selling used cars on the side for over 40 years. He believed that honesty and integrity was very important throughout their business years. On January 25, 1947, Joe married Mary Ann Ruth Murphy at the Centerton United Methodist Church with Reverend Catherine Ferrell officiating. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers; Don (who died as a child), Jack J. and Jene. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Ann; daughters, Janice Lasater of Bella Vista and Donna Lasater of Bella Vista; son, John Lasater and daughter in law, Sandy of Pea Ridge; granddaughters, Shannon Brown and her husband Ryan and their child Serenity of Lowell, Shawn Lasater of Bentonville, grandsons by marriage, Patrick Mitchell (wife, Amy) and their two daughters, Ellia and Marys of Springfield, MO and Ryan Mitchell (wife Krystal) and daughter Quinn of Centerton. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Thursday with Memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. at Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers with Pastor Shane Pair and Pastor Jim Keith officiating . Inurnment will take place at a later date in Pea Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers , memorials can be made to Circle of Life Hospice Center, Legacy Village; Oakley Chapel UMC; Pea Ridge Historical Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home. Memorial 1:00 PM Thursday, April 9th, 2015
