John Nathan Dunn, age 68, of Bentonville passed away Aug. 30, 2012, in Rogers. John was born March 26, 1944, in Bell Gardens, Calif., to parents Connie Dunn and Irene Eslinger. Following high school graduation from John Bosco in Bell Gardens Calif., he entered California State College at Long Beach, where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree. He began his 32-year career as a computer programmer at National Cash Register Company in Rancho Bernardo, Calif. He was an usher and deacon at Fundamental Baptist Church in Escondido Calif., where he lived with his family. He moved his family to Rogers, Ark., in 1995. He worked at NCR in Bentonville. He was known for a great sense of humor. John enjoyed music, working in children's church, playing computer and chess games with his nieces and nephews, and visiting with his daughters and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He had great faith, and loved and served the Lord. John was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Connie Dunn Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Dunn of the home; daughters, Jenny Smith and husband, Eric, of Wylie, Texas, and Joan Lucero and husband, Joe, of Vista, Calif.; four grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Jonathan Smith, Elijah Smith and Yzzabella Lucero; aunt, Bee Clegg of Fort Smith, Ark., a sister-in-law, Lela Faye Dunn of Tustin, Calif., and her two grown children, Chuck and Sharon; cousins, Myrna Wells of Fort Smith and Dorothy Berley of Warren, Ark.; and several other cousins in Arkansas. Donations can be made to the Children's Advocacy Center of Benton County. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers.
