John Little, age 93 of Kingston, passed away February 23, 2017. John was born February 9, 1924 in Kingston, Arkansas to parents John Clyde Little and Wilma Parker Little. John was working for the 3 C's at the foot of Mt. Rushmore when he was drafted into WWII and was trained in Graves Registration and shipped to Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was with the 1st Army and won 6 - Battle Stars for action in Normandy - France - the Battle of the Bulge - Battle of the Ardennes Forrest - Rhineland and Berlin. His unit, 129 soldiers of the 607th graves registration Company were responsible for retrieving - processing - and burying 73,000 plus casualties in cemeteries they established across Europe - starting with the first one St.Laurent on the cliff above Omaha Beach. After the war he ran Johnny's Road Show throughout Madison and Newton County in small towns showing 8mm movies in local schools and churches. Soon after, TV put him out of business he reenlisted in the Army retiring after 21 years of service to his country - He served during WWII - Korea - Viet Nam. After retiring he was Chief X-ray Tech at Springdale Memorial Hospital, then worked in Radiology at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville, Ar. retiring in 1971. At that time John and Lois returned to their home town of Kingston, Ar. John became the Co-founder and standing president for 15 years of the Madison County Genealogical Society. He also opened Grandpa's Flea Market on the Square at Kingston for the last 25 years. John was also active in the VFW of Huntsville and the American Legion in Kingston. John was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lois White Little; one son, John "Danny" Little; grandson, Rodney Sabatini; son in law, Johnny Turner; brother, Bill Little and two sisters, Dorothy Jaworski and Alice Eoff. He is survived by one son, Tom Little and wife Deb of Kingston; daughters, Janet Musteen and husband Dean of Kingston and Linda Turner of Springdale; brother, Gerald Little and wife Holly of Valley Springs, California; sister, Marie Buehler of Warden, Washington; sister in laws, Dorothy White, Lois Eoff White of Springdale and Ruth Edwards of Longview, Washington; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; five great -great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. John will be buried in a private ceremony at the Kingston Cemetery arrangements are being made by the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home.
