Joesph Louis Johnson, age 89 of Fayetteville, passed away June 8, 2010. Joseph was born July 29, 1920 in Illinois to parents Joseph and Florence Johnson. Joseph was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy, where he served as a surface warfare officer. He was also a graduate of the University of Illinois. After World War II, Joseph continued his public service working for many years as a civil servant in Illinois and later Oklahoma. He moved to Northwest Arkansas for retirement and was a member of the Weddington Woods neighborhood. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Gertrude Johnson. He is survived by his daughter, Laurel Johnson of McKinney, Texas; two nieces of California; a sister in law and a host of other relatives and friends. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park-3800 West Walnut, Rogers.
