Kandra Diane Sperling, age 50 of Bella Vista, passed away August 31, 2010. Kandra was born October 17, 1959 at Yakima, Washington, to parents Wayne Porter and Marge Newman Porter. She moved to Cassville, Mo. as a young lady and for the last 30 years was a resident of Northwest Arkansas. Kandra worked from 1998 to 2003 as an editor for Rogers Morning News. In her position with the paper, she was also able to pursue her love for photography. Kandra was also a member of the Bella Vista Congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Kandra was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Porter. She is survived by her husband, Pete Sperling of Bella Vista; mother, Marge Rector of Bella Vista; daughter, Melanie Merkling and husband Ross of Rogers; step daughters, Jennifer McNamara and husband John of Carterville, Missouri and Nicole Simon and husband Brett of Rogers; brothers, Joe Porter and Don Porter of Monett, Mo., Dan Porter of Pineville, Mo, Bruce Porter of Bentonville ; sister, Karen Allen of Cassville, Mo.; grandson, Carter Merkling of Rogers and step grandchildren Taylor and Teagon Simon of Rogers. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial Services are set for 2:30 P.M., Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2501 Southwest 14th in Bentonville. Herb Wight will officiate.
