Karen E. Abbott, age 68, a resident of Rogers, Arkansas and formerly of Hot Springs, South Dakota, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Circle of Life Hospice Care in Springdale, Arkansas. Karen was born in Lusk, Wyoming on April 8, 1943 to Harold and Bernice (Martin) Hitshew. Preceded in death by her husband Daniel Zierke in 2009; her parents; three brothers and one sister; Karen is survived by one son, Richard Abbott and wife Allison of Indiana; five daughters, Michelle Forgo and husband George of Bella Vista, Arkansas; April Abbott of Maryland; Sheri Fargo and husband John of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Julie Gagnon and husband Larry of Maine; Heather Black of New York; one brother, Dean Hitshew of Custer, South Dakota; two sisters, Debbie Ellis of Gillette, Wyoming; Donna Hitshew of Worland, Wyoming; nine grandchildren, Eddie, Amber, Evan, Bradley, William, Micawber, Hannah, Sophia, and Haylee; two great grandchildren, Anthony and Alex; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Private Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date.
