Larry VanMeter, 83 of Rogers, passed away on May 22, 2018 at his home in Rogers, AR. . Larry VanMeter was born in St. Joe, Missouri to Roosevelt and Roberta VanMeter on August 1, 1934. He was married to Virginia VanMeter on January 31, 1976 in Bella Vista, AR. Larry retired from Hussman Foods in 2001 and enjoyed his retirement playing golf and spending time with his family. He was a veteran of the Korean War and proudly served in the Army. Larry was a member of the Rogers Free Will Baptist Church since 1986 and served as the church Treasurer and teen Sunday school teacher. Larry VanMeter is preceded in death by his parents Roosevelt and Roberta VanMeter. Larry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Virginia VanMeter, his children, Larry D. VanMeter and wife Kerry VanMeter, Roger VanMeter, Lanita Trotter, Wilber Johnson, Rick Bolinger and wife Noi Bolinger. His brother Charles VanMeter and wife Marguerite. His grandchildren, Shannon Lasater, Larry Lee VanMeter, Krissy Reid, Candon Bolinger, Ashley Dunn, Chase VanMeter, Elliott VanMeter, Joanna Hughes, Jessica and Jennifer Johnson. His Great Grandchildren, Dakota Bolinger, Chance Young, Drew Lasater, Joey, Lela and Katie VanMeter, Jena Keller, Jackson McDaniel, Jaymz Duncan, and Macee McDufee. Pallbearers will be Lee VanMeter, Billy Bowen, Trevor Bowen, Taylor Bowen, Candon Bolinger and Dakota Bolinger. "Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand." Visitation will be held at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, Thursday, May 24th, 2018 from 5-7pm. Funeral service will be held Friday, May 25th, 2018 at 10:00am at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home with internment service immediately following. Pastor Randy Burgess, officiating.
