Lizzie Capps, age 83 and a longtime resident of Fayetteville, passed away March 4, 2011 at Springdale. Lizzie was born April 11, 1927 at Kona, Hawaii to parents Keawe Alapai and Louisa Mahuluae Alapai. Lizzie grew up in Hawaii and was united in marriage to Elton A. Capps on October 9, 1948. They enjoyed many years of marriage, with Elton passing away October 23, 1993. Lizzie worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She also was a member of the Pentecostal Church and enjoyed spending time with family. Lizzie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elton A. Capps; two sons, Elton Capps Jr. and Walter N. Capps and one daughter, Jinney H. Capps. She is survived by one son, Noble Capps of Willits, California; daughters, Janice Turner of Fayetteville, Julia Capps of Sacramento, California, June Abalos of Prairie Grove, Josephine Capps of Goshen, Jennifer Belk of Springdale, Jackie Capps of Fayetteville; 28 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Memorial Services are set for 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Circle of Life Hospice at 901 Jones Road in Springdale. Chaplain John Pate will officiate.
