Margaret M. Johnson died on June 3, 2018 at Ozark Terrace Nursing Home in Rogers, AR. Margaret M. Hagedorn Johnson was born on August 2, 1924 at Clutier, IA. She was the daughter of Ervin L. and Helen Lilly Hagedorn. She attended Howard Township #4 Country School in Tama county, IA. After graduating from the eighth grade in the Country School, she attended and graduated from Garwin High School, in Garwin, IA in 1942. She later married Earl F. Johnson in 1943. They had two daughters, Nancy Diane and Kathleen Ann Johnson. Margaret and her family moved to Prescott, AZ from the Garwin area. She was active with Girl Scouts, having received a Life Time Achievement Award from the Girl Scouts of America. She also served as a Welcome Wagon hostess for many years in Prescott. She and her family later moved to and lived in Yorba Linda and Grass Valley, CA. In 1979, Margaret and her family moved to Rogers, AR, where she was active with Hospice, The Red Hat Organization, Grace Methodist Church and also a bereavement support group. In Margaret's later years, she married Charles C. Downing. They lived in Rogers, AR. For the past several years, Margaret resided at the Ozark Terrace Nursing Home in Rogers, AR. Margaret is survived by her brother Richard and wife Joan, sister Mary Lou and husband Nordeene, granddaughters Susan and Becky and several great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Helen Hagedorn, brother Roger, husbands Earl and Charles, daughters Nancy and Kathy, one granddaughter and one grandson. Funeral services for Margaret will be held at Grace Methodist Church in Rogers, AR at 10:00 AM. on June 8, 2018. Internment will be held in Clutier, IA at the Oneida Cemetary. In lieu of flowers and memorials, Margaret suggests that you make a contribution to a favorite charity or do something kind for someone.
