Obituary

Marilyn Milam Hollis, 86, of Springdale passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022. She was born on June 26, 1936, in Camden, AR to Charlie and Billie Hesterly Milam. Marilyn graduated in 1954 from Camden High School where she was extremely active and kept in touch with her classmates all her life. She married Rudolph "Rudy" Hollis on July 29, 1956. They lived in several places while Rudy was in the Service and after he retired including Florida, Louisiana, Virginia, California and Arkansas. Marilyn graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1963 with a Teaching degree and taught elementary school until she retired in 1996. She was a dearly loved teacher and received several awards while teaching. She served on countless committees and organizations. After retirement, Marilyn and Rudy stayed active in their community by working with the Louisiana Fish & Wildlife for many years. They traveled years in their RV serving others and making friends. She was also an avid Arkansas Razorback Fan! Most importantly, Marilyn was a Christian and a member of the church of Christ. Her faith was a shining example to all who knew her. She continued to volunteer and serve others up until the time of her death. Her family was her pride and joy and her greatest treasure. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy, and sons Mark and Jeremy. She is survived by sister Ann Hurst, and brother Bob Milam, and one daughter, Kim Province. Grandchildren, Jennifer Lane, Kayla Dawson, Tabitha Diver, Matthew Province, Jeremy Hollis and wife, Cheyenne, Camille Williams, Haley Scales and husband, Dalton and Hunter Hollis. Great grandchildren, Camilla and Isabel Lane, Hannah and Brianna Wright, Sam Bush, Emillia Williams, True, Arya and Hazel Scales and Jaxx and Layla Hollis. And a Host of friends! A celebration of Life will be held Monday, October 3rd and the Benton County Memorial Park. Viewing is at 10:00 and Service at 11:00. All friends and family are invited to attend.
