Obituary

Marilyn Dee Knox sadly passed away on June 1, 2026, in Rogers, Arkansas. She was born on August 19, 1939, in Warrensburg, Missouri, to the late William Gordon Draper and Margaret Lee (Drinkwater) Draper.

Marilyn’s professional career spanned over forty years, during which she served as Executive Vice President of various banks, including Security National Bank, Commercial National Bank, and Arvest. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marilyn was also a passionate sports enthusiast, a proud supporter of the Chiefs, the Royals, and the Razorbacks. Whether watching football or baseball, her enthusiasm was infectious. Her interests extended beyond sports; she enjoyed bowling, sewing, and fishing—activities that brought her relaxation and happiness throughout her life.

Marilyn was a devoted mother and grandmother. She cherished her role as a mother above all else, dedicating much of her time and love to her children and grandchildren. Her family was a central part of her life. Known for her great sense of humor, she had a special talent for making those around her laugh, bringing joy and lightness to every room she entered. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, William “Bill” Knox and Jim Knox, her sister, Sharon, numerous grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, William Draper, mother, Margaret Draper, brothers, Harry and Larry Draper, twin sister, Carolyn Lee, as well as her sons, Larry Knox and John Knox.
