Marnie Jean Chapman Compton, 54-year-old resident of Bentonville, Arkansas passed away on December 19, 2024. She was born June 23, 1970 to Douglas and Gloria Chapman in Mobridge, SD. Her life was defined by her unwavering dedication to her family, especially her children. Known for her kindness and generosity, Marnie was always quick to lend a helping hand, often giving far more than she received. Despite her own challenges, which she faced quietly and without complaint, she remained a pillar of strength and support for those around her. After a long and courageous journey battling cancer, Marnie made the brave decision to enter hospice care, focusing on comfort and spending cherished time with her loved ones. Her thoughts during this chapter of life embodied the grace and strength she carried throughout her journey.
Marnie's entrepreneurial spirit saw her successfully run several businesses throughout her life. In the past decade, she found joy and fulfillment working as an optical assistant and at a rehab facility. During this time, she formed many close and cherished friendships.
Marnie's deep faith in Jesus was central to her life. She spent many hours reading her Bible and participating in online church services. She was a prayer warrior for her children, family, friends, Marines, and others who were also battling cancer. Her faith in God and her children were her pillars of strength.
Marnie is survived by her parents, Doug and Gloria Chapman; children, Noah Bassett and his wife, Hannah Blackmon, of Oceanside, CA, John Compton, of Fayetteville, AR, Mallory Compton, of Bentonville, AR; sister, Jacquie Roberts, of Bentonville, AR; nieces, Autumn Roberts, of Bentonville, AR, Summer Roberts, of Bentonville, AR; and many other friends, family, and loved ones.
Marnie will be remembered for her quiet strength, her generous heart, and the many memories she created with those she held close.
