Obituary

Mary Rosalee Ragsdale Magee Allen, 79, of Exeter, longtime former resident of Bella Vista and Bentonville, Ark., passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011. She was born July 26, 1932, in Jane, Mo., to James Oakley and Christina Louisa Harmon Ragsdale. She was a loving, wife, mother, and nurse. As an elementary teacher in the State of Arkansas, she taught and counseled for many years. She devoted her life to caring and providing for the needs of others, including grandparents Claud D. & Sarah Stephens Harmon. She will be missed by those of us who looked to her for love, comfort, wisdom and guidance and who have a deep respect for the way she lived her life. Her personal relationship and commitment to God directed her in the decisions she made in her daily life and in the way she treated every person she met. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, J. C. Magee, sisters, Eva Mae Holden and Bonnie Jo Meyers Crabtree, of Hermiston, Ore. She was also preceded in death by husband, Frank Allen, son, Michael Allen, and daughter, Cynthia Allen Ortiz. She is survived by her loving companion, Edward A. Armitage, at home; two sons, Johnny Dave Magee and wife, Wilma, Exeter, Mo., and Frank Allen, Jr.; three daughters, Peggy Magee Swank, and Lou Ann Allen Giese, both of Bella Vista, Ark., and Kathy Allen, of Garfield, Ark.; three grandsons, James David 'Davy' Magee, of Exeter, Thomas Matthew Swank and Christopher Neil Giese, of Bella Vista, Ark.; three great-granddaughters, Molly Ann Magee, of Rogers, Ark.; Madilyn Marie Swank and Haylen Rose Swank both of Bella Vista, Ark. She is also survived by three brothers James Edward Ragsdale of Spokane, Wa., Donald Gene and Jackie Wayne Ragsdale of Hermiston, Oregon and four sisters, Patsy Ann Carnahan Slomers of Siloam Springs, Ark., Billie Kay Luke and Debra Gail Schultz of Hermiston, Oregon and Linda Sue Nordmeyer of Post Falls, Idaho and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives. Memorial services were held on Saturday, November 26th at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on Rains Road in Jane, Mo. with Pastor Hank Gorman officiating.
