Obituary

Mary Rogers (Royce) Oliver, age 57, a resident of Winslow, Arkansas and formerly of Indiana, passed away Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. Mary was born in Hammond, Indiana on March 15, 1954 to Raymond and Juanita (Jarman) Royce. Mary graduated from Griffith High School in Griffith, Indiana and was in the first graduating class of EMT's in the state of Indiana. She also attended the Potomac Horse Center in the horse masters program. Mary was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Springdale, Arkansas where she enjoyed singing in the Church Choir. She was a volunteer fire fighter for the Boston Mountain Fire Association. Mary enjoyed taking care of and riding horses, Nascar events, and she especially loved her dogs; she also enjoyed cross stitching, arts and crafts and was a member of the Embroiderers' Guild of America. Preceded in death by her husband Stephen Phillip Oliver in 2007 and her parents; Mary is survived by her daughters of the heart, Lisa Mayfield of Winslow, Arkansas; Alethea Honomichl and husband Karle, of West Fork, Arkansas; grandchildren Oliver Honomichl and Simon Honomichl; two brothers, Raymond Mark Royce of Maryville, Tennessee; Lewis Royce and wife Alice Beth of Maryville, Tennessee; two sisters, Margaret Galvin of Hammond, Indiana; Tina Smiley of Silver Lake, Indiana; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Memorial services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church (2898 S. 48th St. Springdale, AR 72762) with Reverend Pamela S. Morgan-Rector officiating. There will be a private memorial service at a later date in Indiana to celebrate Mary's life. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the St. Thomas Episcopal Church Choir in honor of Mary Oliver.
